What to Expect

Hunting Season

There is no bad time to hunt in South Africa! Our hunting season runs from February 1st until November 30th. Planning your hunt according to your hunting preference is very important, so we recommend that rifle hunts are planned March through October, and bow hunts – a minimum of 10 days -July through September.

Temperatures in winter (May to August) vary between 40° F in the early morning to 68° F during midday. Autumn and spring (February to April and September to November) varies between 59° F to 86°F.

We recommend a wide brimmed hat with a good sun block – at least SPF 30 – for hunts year round.

Go to www.weathersa.co.za for more information about the weather.

Transportation

With the exception of organizing your flights to and from South Africa (Johannesburg), we will tend to all of your transportation needs.  A Numzaan Safaris representative will meet you at OR Tambo International Airport and bring you comfortably to the hunting location.  Travel during your safari is by fully-equipped hunting vehicles and/or mini coach.
